Drove to Mount Rainier National Park, registered and started hiking from the

then solid snow as we worked our way 3 miles to Glacier Basin and setup camp.
Reviewed ice axe and snow travel skills.

|
Woke up at midnight and left camp by 2 am. 5,000 feet and 7.5 hours later we
reached Rainier's summit (Columbia Crest, 14,411 feet). We rested in the
crater out of the 40+ mph winds then spent 4 hours descending back to Camp
Schurman.
